Giving as a Doorway to Peace
By Deb Schnitta
Giving allows the heart to open. Think for a moment of a
time when you gave to someone. Perhaps it was an act of kindness, such as
helping a neighbor in a moment of need. Or a surprise for a loved one that took
their breath away. Depending on the scenario and how much planning was involved
your mind and energetic resources may have been heavily involved with the act
of creating your offering. In this way you were gathering your units of
consciousness toward an act of generosity.
This simple act of gathering focuses your energy in a
powerful way. We are beings of outflow. We speak, extend ourselves out into the
world in various ways and seek to have impact. Even in our silence, our light
is moving outward. In fact, our Soul's incarnate simply to have the opportunity
to contribute light. This thing called output is significant enough to fuel
incarnation!
When we give, the heart opens. It sounds so simple. Yet, if
we are tired or stressed or have our attention elsewhere, then we have less
useable units available for the act of giving. The same activity happens, but
its impact is less. An open heart occurs through exercising its capacity to
give. In this way, we allow that which is larger than us to move through and
connect with those around us. The open heart allows for what has been gathered
to move out into the world. This is the same principle if we are offering a
gift to a charity, or surrendering to our deepest capacity to heal some aspect
of our own lives.
Giving allows us to exercise our capacity to open, engage
and then extend outward. The upward movement that is created from this process
is a necessary component for having physical vitality. It is present when you
notice gaining momentum while working on a project. Perhaps friends come and
join in, adding their own contributions and providing to the momentum and
vitality.
Hearts that come together in shared purpose have an
exponential capacity to give. It is not just that there are more people which
equals more hearts and thus more energy and capacity. When shared purpose is
fueled by opening hearts, a larger group heart is created. This transcends any
limitation, such as fear, hesitancy, resistance that the individuals in the
group might have and allows for a larger uplifting energy body or vortex to be
created. This vortex then, when anchored to something open and never ending,
allows for the richness of each unit of consciousness that has been offered in
creation to multiply. The possibilities are endless and infinite.
I witness this each month when the graduates from the Cellular
Expansion and Healing program give generously of their time to participate in
the monthly benefits supporting Women for Women International and the
incredible work this organization does in some of the hardest places in the
world. Each month this committed group of practitioners arrange their lives to
spend an evening in service. Some drive over an hour to get there. Some have
thriving practices and extend their day to offer more session at no personal
financial gain. Still others arrange child care, go to work tired the next day
or step outside their comfort zone simply to be seen (you know how engineers
and accountants can be!) and offer freely not only their time, not only their
commitment but the incredible light that moves through them each. They come in service and together create such
a sacred place that the people who wait to receive their sessions sit in
silence and are fed simply by waiting. The energy spills down over the walls
and punctuates the silence, offering nutrient light out into the world. Often
those that are waiting comment about how sacred it feels, how it feels like
church. Perhaps this larger act of shared purpose of group hearts connected as
one is how church was always intended to be.
In the earth plane these practitioners serve the people who
come to receive a session. The individual acts they perform during that evening
add to the harmony and light that is available. Often people who arrive for the
sessions report many incredible life changes simply by receiving Cellular Expansion
and Healing even once a month. Jobs change, relationships heal, tissue repairs,
depression is lifted. All of this, no matter how significant for the individual
is only one contribution to the evening and the larger purpose of the group. It
is profound for the individual who has been suffering to move to the other side
of this oppressive force. It is comforting for the person who has been seeking
connection to feel their Soul in a rich and palpable way. Each unit of
consciousness that has been generously offered up for transformation from
within the dense patterns of holding now adds to the further uplifting of
energy and potential for the largeness of the service at hand.
The light that is generated serves the recipients of the
programs for Women for Women International. The practitioners, the clients of
the benefit evening, the funds that are raised and the energy that is generated
serve the women of war torn areas. These women in turn support their families
and their communities as they regain and often move beyond the existence they
had prior to the atrocities of war. In a recent newsletter describing the
incredible outreach efforts of one project, they describe arriving at the
village to meet with the women that have been part of the program. The purpose
of the meeting is to see how the women are, what successes have arisen and what
additional support is needed. It is part of their graduation from the two year program.
On this particular day the workers are met by the men of the village. This has
never happened before and the workers are surprised. The men insist on meeting
with the workers as well so that they can share how their lives have changed,
so that the full impact of an organization focusing on women can be heard.
One dollar, one act of generosity, one gift of light is far
reaching.
When we think of ourselves from this place of largeness, we
realize just how much we have to offer. It may be a smile to a stranger, an act
of kindness such as holding open a door or the expression of our Soul's purpose
out into the world. Each time we engage freely in the act of giving, we
strengthen our capacity for outflow, which in turn strengthens our capacity for
inflow as well. We receive more when we give than when we simply take.
